Without a doubt the Philippines has indeed become a sauna, and for us who have no choice but to run errands around town under the relentless heat of the sun or those who can't stay still at home because wanderlust is calling out their name, it's only natural to reach for clothes that are comfortable to move in and of course, clothing items with fabrics that don't trap heat.
This top is from one of my favorite local based Instagram shops (find out my four other favorites by reading the entire blog post here), and it has become my go-to top whenever I'm hitting the streets of Katipunan this summer. Although it's made out of a lacey material - which makes this piece breezy and über comfortable - it has full length sleeves so it doesn't show too much skin.
Cut-off jean shorts are also a must have for summer and this gorgeous high-waisted pair is from another one of my favorite local based Instagram shops, COPPER. High-waisted bottoms are a bittersweet deal for me. On one hand, they're extremely flattering but on the other, it's a headache trying to find the perfect fit. So you can imagine my utter delight when I found out that this pair fits me like a glove!
If I were to wear this outfit on a holiday out on the beach, I'd further protect myself from the sun by finishing this outfit off with an enormous hat. Aside from slathering on a thick layer of sunscreen - which I've been doing every single day ever since my doctor prescribed it to me - the hat's wide brim would give me more coverage and protect my face from the sun's rays.
This look is also the ootd I've submitted to Zalora's Style It Forward Challenge alongside my friends and fellow bloggers Ida of The Green Tea Enthusiast and Celina of Celina the Unicorn. Check out our entries below!
